Klipsch Audio in India at The Revolver Club

Klipsch, this is a brand name that doesn't need an introduction. Chances are you have been introduced to this name right from your childhood. This is because Klipsch is an American speaker manufacturing giant that has been making the best(arguably) speakers in the history of hi-fi audio. In America, Klipsch is the most prominent and most preferred name when it comes to speakers. Their Klipschorn is arguably the oldest speakers still in production in the world. In India too Klipsch speakers have been considered to be the best by the true audiophiles who have experienced the sound of Klipsch speakers. The Revolver Club had been experiencing high demands and finally has made it possible for audiophiles to buy Klipsch products in India online as well as at their Mumbai store locally.

Founded in 1946 by Paul W Klipsch, a legend in the world of audio in Hope Arkansas. Just like every other success story of Saul Marantz, Roy Gandy and Heinz, Paul Klipsch too started by making his own set of speakers because he was dissatisfied with the products that were available in the market. All he wanted to do was to bring the experience of live music in his living room. So he created the first ever legendary Klipschorn speakers in a tiny tin shed in Hope Arkansas.

Paul Klipsch didn't just manage to bring the experience of live music to his living room but also to the living rooms of millions of other homes. Paul Klipsch used a speaker technology that is known as Horn speakers(horn loaded speakers).

The tin shed where the first Klipschorn speakers were made, and the following speakers for the next two years by Paul Klipsch himself was later transformed into a big manufacturing plant. This manufacturing plant in Hope, Arkansas has now been transformed into a museum name "Klipsch museum of audio history". And it surely is one kind of a destination for audiophiles who set out regularly on every other anniversary of Klipsch speakers to pay respects to the Engineering and science hall of fame.

The acoustic principles of Klipsch sound

High Efficiency with Low Distortion: Paul Klipsch has made a law that states that "Efficiency is inversely proportional to distortion". Based on this law, Klipsch's horn technology is more accurate when it comes to sound and highly power efficient. Louder and cleaner audio with less distortion is what is produced by Klipsch speakers that use horn tech.

Direction and directivity controlled: Klipsch speakers emulate lifelike soundstage thanks to its horn technology that precisely spreads sounds in directions of proper locations. It manages to do all of this while not wasting any acoustic energy where the desired sound is not needed.

Wide Dynamic Range: The fundamental principle of a Klipsch speaker is its ability to reproduce sounds of lowest volume with crisp quality and at the same time reproduce highest of sound volume without distortion or harshness. This is something that all audio products manufacturing companies have been trying hard to emulate while Klipsch speakers have been able to do it successfully for the past seven decades.

Flat Frequency Response: There's nothing more annoying than unnatural sounds or like audiophiles call it, colored audio. The fourth principle of Klipsch speakers is that original audio, as created by the artist and the sound engineers has to be emulated without any frequency bias and reproducing crisp, clear and accurate sound.

Every audiophile yearns to have speakers that can deliver audio signals so perfectly without compromising loudness. This is the reason except for horn loaded speakers, the other various kinds of speakers need powerful amplifiers that come at really high costs, thus making hi-fi audio a distant dream with people without deep pockets. Audiophiles in India love the stereo speakers by Klipsch(mainly the powered speakers) as it keeps the budget low because one doesn't have to invest in high power preamps and amplifiers. Movie fanatics also have something to cheer about as Klipsch speakers are known to be some of the best home theatre speakers in the world. This is evident with the fact that multiplexes and series of theatres have installed Klipsch Speakers in their movie halls.

Hence if you are someone looking to buy Klipsch speakers in India, you can check out the online store of The Revolver Club which has some of the best Klipsch products on sale including the Klipsch R-14PM and the Klipsch R-15PM. These two Klipsch speakers are the most sought after speakers today in the hi-fi audio industry.

Paul Wilbur Klipsch

Known in the industry as PWK, Paul is one of the biggest legends that ever lived when it comes to the science and engineering of hi-fi audio. Paul Klipsch has had a journey like no other. After switching many jobs right from working in railroads, maintaining electric locomotives in Chile, following which he graduated from at Stanford for his engineering degree. Later he worked as a geophysicist for two Texas oil companies. Paul Klipsch later served in the US army during the world war II during which he refined his corner horn speaker design.

When he first started in Hope Arkansas, his only aim was to make the best speakers in the world. This aim lives on even today as a company vision for every engineer that works on the numerous Klipsch Products. In fact, at Klipsch, they have a policy of not updating their designs unnecessarily, which is a different approach from other companies that keep updating their speakers, at times reducing the quality or compromising on other factors.

Paul truly believed in the saying, "If it ain't broken, don't fix it." At Klipsch, they have put their belief in their speakers and that is why the design that Paul came up with for the first set of speakers he made, the Klipschorn speakers is still retained. The Klipschorn speakers are still hand-made in Hope, Arkansas.

Paul got his loudspeaker design patent in 1945 and founded his Klipsch and Associates in 1946. He went on to crafting each speaker with his own hands until his first employee joined in 1948. After the Klipschorn, he went on to design many other lines of speakers which became household names throughout America. These included The Heresy, Rebel, Shorthorn, Cornwall, La Scala, and Belle Klipsch.

Paul has won numerous awards and accolades and has been featured in multiple halls of fame. This includes being awarded the Audio Engineering Society's second highest honor, the Silver Medal in 1978. In 1977, he was recognised by the Engineering and Science hall of fame for improving the quality of life of mankind by contributing at an individual level of using engineering and scientific principles.

Paul's legacy lives on, and even after he passed away in 2002 at the age of 98, he was inducted in the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame in 2004. The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) had formed this hall of fame in 2000, honoring creative, persistent and determined innovators and leaders who have helped mould the consumer electronics industry into its current state. In his journey of innovation, he has accounted for 23 patents and is considered to be one of the best innovators America has witnessed in recent times.

Klipsch Technology

Klipsch is a company that has taken pride in its technology right from the start. This is the reason why the company is called Klipsch Audio Technology. Paul Klipsch himself has laid strong foundations of technology, and he alone has got 23 patents. All the technology is based on the four principles of Klipsch Sound laid down by Paul Klipsch. Some of the proprietary technology are as follows.

Tractrix horns

Tractrix horns are the original cutting edge horn design of Klipsch. This technology makes sure that the listener's ears are directly delivered with high-frequency sound. This technology is designed to produce crisp, clear and distortion free detailed sound. This is made possible because the Tractrix horn technology shuns the artificial reverb to the bare minimum, the reverb that occurs due to indirect audio signals hitting the walls. Check out our Hi-fi audio systems page for an in-depth understanding of reverb and reflection of sound. The Tractrix horn technology is featured in every Klipsch Speakers except for the subwoofers.

Linear Travel Suspension Tweeter

The tweeters are most prone to distortion because of high-frequency sound signals, and more often than not, the delivery is not detailed enough. The Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) tweeters are made of aluminium, and it is responsible for minimizing distortion for clear, unparalleled audio performance. The LTS tweeters also use Kapton, which is an almost weightless(compared to other standard heavy materials used by other companies) and at the same time strong and rigid material, this suspension aids high efficiency and improves the resolution and detail of sound.

Wide Dispersion Surround Technology

Klipsch speakers are widely regarded as some of the best home theatre speakers in the world. So much so that even some of the biggest multiplexes and movie halls are equipped with Klipsch speakers. This is because the key element of every Klipsch surround speaker is their proprietary Wide Dispersion Surround Technology. This tech is responsible for delivering astounding audio detail for spaces which are not-so-ideal in terms of placement possibilities.

The fans in India and worldwide love Klipsch because Klipsch listens to them. Klipsch audio goes out of their way for listening to their fans as they give budding designers a chance to prove themselves by conducting regular contests. The participants are encouraged to submit their designs in return for a chance to win amazing prices. This connect that Klipsch has built is something that puts it way ahead of its competitors. This was proven when PCmag conducted a reader's opinion on products, and for four consecutive years, Klipsch has won the reader's choice award for Wired PC speakers.

Klipsch has also been innovative in the world of headphones and in-ear earphones. While other companies have round buds, Klipsch engineers believe that the human ear cavity is oval so an oval bud is a perfect fit and can deliver a better audio quality than a round bud.
