Focal Pro Sub One – Active Professional Studio Subwoofer

The Focal Pro Sub One is an active professional studio subwoofer designed to extend the low-frequency performance of nearfield monitoring systems while providing comprehensive bass-management facilities. It combines two 8-inch Slatefiber woofers with 200W RMS of Class-D amplification in a slim, front-ported enclosure. With a frequency response of 32Hz–120Hz, maximum SPL of 114dB and balanced Left, Right and LFE connectivity, Sub One is particularly suited to professional recording, mixing, mastering and production environments, including systems built around Focal Alpha Evo and Shape monitors.

The Focal Pro Sub One is designed to integrate between a professional audio interface, monitor controller or other balanced source and a pair of active studio monitors. Left and right balanced signals can enter the Sub One and then pass to the main monitors through its outputs, allowing the integrated bass-management system to divide low-frequency reproduction between the subwoofer and monitors. A dedicated LFE path is also provided for compatible monitoring configurations. Adjustable subwoofer level, low-pass frequency, phase, polarity and selectable high-pass filtering allow the system to be calibrated for the monitoring environment. The 2.1 bypass function can be controlled by an external footswitch, allowing rapid comparison between full-range stereo monitoring and subwoofer-assisted playback.
