Formed in 1970 in Oslo, Norway, Lucifer Was is a powerful heavy prog-psych band that lasted until 1975. During those years, they gigged locally and played at some big festivals, but they never got the chance to register any recording. The band went on hiatus until 1996 when they reunited again for a live concert. The chemistry was still there, so they entered a recording studio and recorded their first ever album, “Underground and Beyond” in just 18 hours, featuring songs originally written in 1971-72. Their line-up included two flute players plus bass, drums and the killer lead guitar of Thore Engen. So, if you love heavy, riff-based rock like Black Sabbath fused with flute-dominated art rock like Jethro Tull, you'll love Lucifer Was for its interesting, unique sonic landscape!

The Revolver Club in collaboration with Free School Street Records is proud to launch the reissue of this rare, cult classic album on vinyl for the very first time in India, under exclusive arrangement with the renowned Spanish record label, Guerssen Records.
