Rasa Evenings is our newest intimate recital series at the Mahim store. It's a space to slow down, listen closely, and experience Indian classical music. For the first edition, we’re hosting a special duo performance by Swapnil Bhise (tabla) and Mandar Katti (sitar). Whether you’re familiar with Hindustani classical traditions or simply curious, this performance offers a thoughtful entry point into the art of live improvisation.

Swapnil is one of the most promising tabla players of his generation, having trained since the age of three and studied under Pt. Yogesh Samsi for the last two decades. His journey includes solo recitals at major festivals such as Saptak, Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav, and Harivallabh, along with performances on DD National, AIR, and tours across Qatar, Bahrain, and Central America.

Mandar Katti brings the melodic counterpoint with a sitar style informed by Kirana gharana vocal training and 15 years of taleem under Pt. Ravi Chary. An AIR-graded sitarist, he has performed solo at festivals across Vadodara, Mumbai, Thane, and Vile Parle, and is actively involved in organising classical baithaks through the Shri Anand Katti Sangeet Pratishthan.
