Founded in 1881, Seiko is known for introducing one of the world's first quartz wristwatches as well as the world's first quartz watch with a chronograph complication.
Seiko has been active in enhancing its own brand value in recent years, and in 2017, Grand Seiko, which had been a high-class sub-brand of Seiko, was transformed into an independent brand and began operating Grand Seiko's own distribution network and services.
