Shanling continues to expand its lineup of compact top-loading CD players with the introduction of ET3. Unlike its predecessor, Shanling EC3, which catered to a diverse audience, ET3 is purpose-built for a specific use – serving as a high-quality digital transport for high-end DACs. With standard digital outputs and additional advanced I2S and USB outputs, ET3 allows for the transmission of super high-resolution files beyond the capabilities of regular coaxial or optical connections. ET3 is equipped to read these high-resolution files from connected USB drives or can be seamlessly integrated with your local wireless network for DLNA streaming.
Shanling ET3 is primarily designed for CD input and offers both turntable and interface functionalities. It supports both wired and wireless input, providing a wide range of output interfaces to connect with your home's decoding equipment. ET3 has dual-band WiFi capability and supports various playback methods such as ALNA, AirPlay, and NAS. Moreover, it can serve as a NAS server, enabling other devices on the local area network to access and play ET3's song content through NAS DMS when a USB drive is inserted into ET3 and connected to the network. You also get Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity for access to music streaming apps on your phone.
Shanling ET3 is powered by the high-performance dual-core Ingenic X2000 chip, built on the Xburst2 architecture, which delivers enhanced computing power and low-latency startup. The device also features the upscaling chip CT7302CL, enabling All to DSD and All to PCM conversion. Additionally, the Philips SAA7824 CD Drive ensures a stable and reliable performance for the device.
Shanling ET3 is a unique CD player that offers rare support for MQA-CD. It can perform MQA Core unfolding and MQA decoding when connected to an I²S decoding device. Additionally, ET3 supports MQA Full Decoder, allowing independent expansion of MQA-CD and MQA files. As a CD turntable, it offers multiple digital output interfaces, with USB supporting up to 768kHz/32bit, DSD512; I²S output supporting up to 768kHz/32bit, DSD512; and Coaxial / Optical / AES output supporting up to PCM 192 kHz / 32bit, DSD 64.

The Shanling ET3 shares the same design as EC3, featuring a compact CNC-machined metal body, with dimensions of 18.8 x 25.5 x 6.8cm, making it smaller than A4 paper. The CD player has an open-cover design and utilises elegant black and grey tempered glass for its CD cover, adding to its light and sophisticated appearance. On the front, there is a 320*290 LCD full-view display with a simple user interface design.
The Shanling ET3 was designed to complement the Shanling EH3 DAC & Amplifier, creating an ideal desktop setup. The two devices are connected using 12S, ensuring seamless and high-quality audio transmission.
