The Rega Planar 1 Plus is a plug-and-play belt-drive turntable that combines the award-winning Planar 1 platform with a built-in high-quality MM phono stage. With its hand-assembled RB110 tonearm, factory-fitted Rega Carbon MM cartridge, 24 V low-noise synchronous motor and Advanced EBLT drive belt, the Planar 1 Plus is designed for straightforward setup and direct connection to a standard line-level amplifier input.

Built-In MM Phono Stage

The major difference between the Planar 1 Plus and the standard Planar 1 is its integrated MM phono stage. The built-in stage amplifies the signal from the supplied moving magnet cartridge to a suitable line-level output, allowing the turntable to connect directly to a compatible line-level input on an amplifier or active audio system without requiring a separate phono preamplifier.

RB110 Tonearm

The hand-assembled RB110 tonearm uses Rega-designed ultra-low-friction bearings and a pre-set bias assembly. The pre-set bias arrangement removes the need for the user to manually adjust bias, making the Planar 1 Plus particularly easy to install.

Rega Carbon MM Cartridge

The Rega Carbon moving magnet cartridge is factory fitted to the RB110 tonearm. This eliminates the need for cartridge installation and alignment during initial setup and allows the Planar 1 Plus to be used as a plug-and-play turntable.

24 V Synchronous Motor

The Planar 1 Plus uses a bespoke 24 V low-noise synchronous AC motor. The motor incorporates a dedicated motor PCB and aluminium pulley to reduce vibration and improve speed stability.

Advanced EBLT Drive Belt

The Planar 1 Plus is supplied with Rega's Advanced EBLT drive belt. The belt is designed to improve speed accuracy and rotational stability compared with Rega's earlier standard belt technology.

Phenolic Resin Platter

A 23 mm high-mass phenolic resin platter provides the rotating platform for the record. Its high-mass construction is designed to provide a flywheel effect that helps maintain stable platter speed.

Plinth & Isolation

The Planar 1 Plus uses a lightweight, high-rigidity plinth designed to reduce unwanted mechanical energy. Rega's custom foot design provides a stable foundation while helping reduce vibration transfer from the supporting surface.

Precision Main Bearing

The precision brass main bearing housing is designed to improve the fit between the bearing components, reduce stress within the bearing assembly and minimise the transfer of unwanted mechanical energy.

Plug & Play Setup

The Planar 1 Plus is designed to require minimal setup. The RB110 tonearm is supplied with its bias pre-set and the Carbon cartridge is already fitted. The supplied balance weight is positioned to its designated stop, while playback speed is selected by moving the drive belt between the 33⅓ and 45 RPM pulley positions.

Connectivity

The integrated MM phono stage provides a line-level output, allowing the Planar 1 Plus to connect directly to a suitable line-level input on an amplifier or compatible audio system. A standard twin RCA connection is supplied for this purpose.
