Akira Kurosawa directs this Japanese war drama starring Tatsuya Nakadai and Tsutomu Yamazaki. When a warlord, who uses lookalikes of himself in battle, is killed, one of his doubles takes over his role. He is coached by underlings to perform properly but eventually he is exposed by a concubine.
