Italian director Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita is an epic portrayal of Roman decadence, exploring the hedonistic lifestyle of gossip columnist Marcello (Marcello Mastroianni). As Marcello grapples with the overdose of his girlfriend Emma (Yvonne Furneaux), he continues to chase numerous women, including the wealthy heiress Maddalena (Anouk Aimée) and the glamorous movie starlet Sylvia (Anita Ekberg). At various social gatherings and extravagant parties, Marcello finds himself both drawn to and repulsed by the ostentatious behaviors and opulent surroundings of the high-society circles he frequents.
