Introducing the Rega Planar 3 Nd3 MM Turntable

Replacing the multi-award-winning What Hi-Fi? Product of the Year (RP3) was never going to be an easy task. It took our team of designers, headed up by Rega’s Roy Gandy, two years to develop the all-new ‘Planar 3’ following the biggest re-design of the iconic ‘Three’ model ever seen. The ‘Planar 3’ is a completely new turntable carrying over just two components from the previous RP model.

The iconic Planar 3 is a milestone in turntable design. Rega pioneered the use of lightweight, rigid plinths with clever use of a lightweight particulate core and a highly rigid phenolic resin skin. This philosophy continues with the new Planar 3, which takes it to the next level. A lightweight acrylic laminated plinth is strengthened with a new improved double brace system, ensuring structural integrity where it matters most. This prevents energy absorption and unwanted resonance, which could distort the sound. The result is a turntable that provides pure, natural sound reproduction.

RB330 Tonearm

The RB330 tonearm is designed using the latest 3D CAD & CAM technology, representing over 35 years of tonearm design experience. With a new bearing housing and a tonearm tube that intelligently redistributes mass, this arm reduces resonance while offering extreme stability and near-friction-free movement. The high precision bearings guarantee that your vinyl will be played with remarkable detail.

Plinth

The high gloss acrylic laminated plinth improves both appearance and rigidity. It features an ergonomically positioned power switch and is available in three stunning high gloss finishes: black, white, red, and the new Light Oak effect for 2024.

Double Brace Technology

The new thicker 3 mm phenolic bottom brace and the new metalized skin phenolic top brace bring enhanced stability and performance.

Bearing Housing

The brass main hub central bearing is redesigned for improved fit and construction, reducing stress on the bearing, ensuring smoother operation and improved sound quality.

Isolation

A new improved foot design enhances stability and minimizes vibration transfer, providing a solid foundation for the turntable.

24 V Motor

The upgraded 24 V motor provides low noise and low vibration. It integrates with the optional Neo PSU (sold separately) for electronic speed change and an advanced anti-vibration circuit.

Dust Cover

A clear dust cover is supplied as standard to protect your turntable. Optional lid-plinth protectors are also included to maintain its pristine appearance.
