Pro-Ject was founded in 1991 by a genuine music lover and a dyed-in-the-wool audiophile, Heinz Lichtenegger in Vienna. In almost three decades since its inception, Pro-Ject Audio has come a long way. A company that was earlier started with an idea to revive vinyl has now successfully managed to bring analogue audio to the masses.
The principles on which Heinz Lichtenegger has built Pro-Ject Audio products are Great Sound, Great Value, Ease of Use and Reliable Build. This has helped inspire the production of Pro-Ject products that have broken the stereotype that analog audio is a costly affair, and only people who are made of money can afford it.
The Revolver Club is delighted to bring the most cost effective and value for money Pro-Ject Audio products to India. Pro-Ject is famous for making turntables that have usually been the first for most enthusiasts, due to its cost-effective yet amazing sounding hi-fi turntables such as Pro-Ject Essential II turntable and the Debut Carbon DC turntable. So if you are new to the world of analog audio and want to spin some of those old LP’s your parents or your grandparents have collected, then your first step should be to buy Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Red (yes we have the Red version).
Pro-Ject Audio is known for its cost-effective turntables. But it has built an entire ecosystem with a range of 12 different lines(kinds) of Pro-Ject vinyl record players, 6 lines of amplifiers, 3 different lines of speakers and all sorts of accessories such as Pro-Ject headphones, Pro-Ject tone-arms, Pro-Ject cartridges, Pro-Ject cables, Pro-Ject vinyl cleaning, dust covers, Hi-fi Furniture, CD players and much more.

In the What Hi-fi Global Awards, Pro-Ject Audio has more often than not secured one of the top 5 spots in their rankings. They follow a strict four-step quality control process, which ensures that a Pro-Ject vinyl LP player works as planned. In Slovakia, they produce micro-sized and high-end audio segments.
The millennials have spearheaded the vinyl revival in India. It is the overwhelming response that the analog audio enthusiasts have shown in India, that some of the best Hi-fi audio brands had to find a way to export their leading products to India. Pro-Ject was no exception. A few years ago, when The Revolver Club first got in touch with Pro-Ject, the demand was not something to boast about. With increasing demand, The Revolver Club has now found it easier to source hi-fi audio products as leading products like the Pro-Ject Essential II turntable, the Pro-Ject Primary, Pro-Ject Phono Box E and the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Red have sold like hotcakes.
The price, the value the products provide for price and the features, make Pro-Ject products the most sought after and highly searched products for online buying in India.
Vinyl record players by Pro-Ject have always been the first preference of many new hi-fi audio enthusiasts who later on grow to become hardcore audiophiles.
Pro-Ject Audio is happy with the response it has received in India and plans on having more and more of their goods exported to India. After spending 25 years in creating a global business, Pro-Ject is happy to have found yet another nation that has appreciated their efforts of making Pro-Ject products that give the best features and value for the price paid.
The journey of Heinz starts from his days at the School of Music. He was not so good at playing music. In fact, he was so bad that the school relegated him by saying he had "Lack of talent," but that statement was only half the truth. Heinz was not talented in playing music, but he was talented in listening to music. It was in this school that his music teacher taught him the art of listening. He was urged to understand classical music and was shown not just the difference between different kinds of sound, but also it's interpretations.
Heinz has always been a music lover. In his teenage, while his friends saved up for KTMs and Zundapp mopeds, Heinz spent his savings in getting himself a stereo system. Heinz's love for music has only grown. Even today, Heinz has his dining table set in the sweet spot of his stereo system at home so that he can listen to his favorite music while having his meal. Right next to it is his sofa so that he can sit and laze around if he wishes to while still being in the best listening spot.
Heinz started off working at hi-fi audio stores in Weinveiertel where he grew up. This is where he later set up one of the biggest manufacturing plants in his town- The Pro-Ject Audio manufacturing plant. Even though he loved working at the store, what he disliked was the fact that hi-fi audio products were expensive and not a lot of people could afford it. That is when he first thought of making hi-fi audio products for the masses.
Heinz is proud that some of his Pro-Ject products have managed to beat the products twice its price. This list includes products such as Pro-Ject Debut Carbon DC turntable, Pro-Ject Essential II turntable, Pro-Ject Phono Box E and the Pro-Ject Primary. He feels that anyone who wants a quality turntable at a reasonably low price should buy a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable.
Pro-Ject Audio today has three factories across Austria. These three factories have 500 highly enthusiastic Austrians working tirelessly to bring the world of Analog audio and quality hi-fi Pro-Ject Audio products to the masses. These 500 employees handle various jobs, including the logistics, design, marketing and administration.
The Headquarter of Pro-Ject is a 12,200 sqm modern science marvel. Located just 35 kms North of Vienna in the awe-inspiring region of Weinviertel. It took several months for designing keeping all aspects in mind and then another 14 months in building it. The HQ of Pro-Ject was finally inaugurated the end of August in 2017.
The HQ has three different parts for three different purposes. There's an elegant 1,200 sqm office area with inviting foyer which is their flagship store. This store is designed to display the best Pro-Ject products for visitors to experience and hear for themselves the output of Pro-Ject's stereo systems, Pro-Ject vinyl LP players, Pro-Ject speakers, Pro-Ject amplifiers and various other products. There are three listening rooms so that one can use the listening room that is closest to the dimensions of their own home and get a practical experience of what Pro-Ject products can do.
Then there's a 3000 sqm storage area where over 250,000 turntables can be stored at one time. This is attached to a 450 sqm order picking area with six truck docking stations, from where more than 4,000 pallets are shipped to over 80 countries worldwide.
What makes the ProJect Manufacturing plant all the more interesting is the fact that all of their products are entirely made in-house. Heinz believes that cheap Chinese peripherals or Chinese production can compromise the overall quality of Pro-Ject Audio products; this is why he has made sure that all of the Pro-Ject products are entirely made in Austria.
