High-Mass Precision Construction

The Model 15 Mk2 is built around a substantial CNC-machined aluminium chassis and sub-chassis. The rigid construction provides a stable platform for the precision bearing, platter and tonearm, while the isolated sub-chassis is designed to control unwanted mechanical energy.

Precision Platter & Bearing

The Model 15 Mk2 incorporates a substantial precision-machined platter supported by a close-tolerance main bearing. The platter uses an iso-damped construction with a diamond-turned playing surface to provide a stable interface between the record and the rotating platform.

SME Series Vᵢ Tonearm

The supplied SME Series Vᵢ tonearm is engineered for accurate cartridge alignment, controlled resonance and precise tracking. Its rigid construction and carefully controlled bearing system allow the cartridge to follow the record groove with high mechanical stability.

Advanced Belt-Drive System

The Model 15 Mk2 uses a precision belt-drive system powered by a custom bi-phase AC synchronous motor. Electronic speed control regulates the motor for stable platter rotation at the selected playback speed.

Isolation & Levelling

The suspended sub-chassis works with the turntable's isolation system to reduce the transfer of external mechanical energy. Four mechanically de-coupled adjustable feet provide accurate levelling and a controlled connection with the supporting surface.

Speed Control Unit

The separate Speed Control Unit provides electronic management of platter speed. It offers dedicated settings for 33⅓ and 45 RPM together with fine adjustment for precise pitch control.

Separate Power Unit

A separate Power Unit houses the mains transformer away from the turntable and its sensitive analogue signal path. This arrangement helps minimise the physical interaction between the power supply and audio circuitry.
