The Rega Planar 6 with Ortofon 2M Blue combines Rega's lightweight, high-rigidity Planar 6 turntable platform with the precision RB330 tonearm, Neo PSU and factory-fitted Ortofon 2M Blue moving magnet cartridge. The combination is designed to provide accurate tracking, stable platter rotation and detailed vinyl playback. An external MM phono pre-amplifier or an amplifier with a dedicated MM phono input is required.

Ortofon 2M Blue Cartridge

The Ortofon 2M Blue is a moving magnet cartridge featuring a nude elliptical diamond stylus. Its design is intended to provide improved retrieval of musical detail and accurate tracking across the record groove.

RB330 Precision Tonearm

The RB330 is Rega's precision tonearm, designed around a rigid structure and high-precision bearings. It provides a stable platform for the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge and is designed for accurate groove tracking.

Neo PSU

The supplied Rega Neo PSU provides electronic motor control and speed selection. It allows precise selection of 33⅓ and 45 RPM and provides controlled power to the turntable's 24 V motor.

24 V Drive Motor

The Planar 6 uses a 24 V low-noise motor with electronic control. The motor and drive system are designed to maintain stable platter rotation while reducing unwanted vibration reaching the record and cartridge.

Plinth & Construction

The Planar 6 uses a lightweight high-rigidity plinth designed to minimise unwanted energy storage. Its structural bracing reinforces the critical area between the tonearm and main bearing while maintaining the low-mass design philosophy of the turntable.

Phono Pre-Amplifier Required

The Planar 6 does not include a built-in phono stage. The supplied Ortofon 2M Blue is an MM cartridge, so the turntable must be connected to an external MM phono pre-amplifier or an amplifier/receiver with a dedicated MM phono input.

Finish Options

Connectivity

The tonearm provides the cartridge's analogue phono signal through the turntable's phono leads. The signal should be connected to an appropriate MM phono stage before being sent to a standard line-level input on an amplifier.
