What are your favourite genres?
Pop, Jazz, Indie, Ghazals, Rock
How did you first get into collecting records?
I always wanted a gramophone as a child. I loved the idea of listening to ghazals in my living room and drinking a cup of hot chai. And when I became an adult I decided to get a turntable. I started collecting records 1 year ago. I’m still a beginner and not anywhere close to my dream vinyl collection or setup. What makes me happy is hunting for vinyls in every town I travel to. Nothing compares to the feeling of finding a gem after a long search.
What’s your turntable setup like?
No set up as yet but I have my eye on an audio technica. Just collecting a few of my fav records till then.I’ve an audio - technica AT-LP60XBT a beginner level turntable of course. My speakers are not my ideal type yet. It’s a JBL soundbar 700, but I’m planning to invest in Edifier R1280DB soon. I’ve around 50 records now.
What’s your best advice for people starting their vinyl journey?
Start with the genres you like. But don’t be reluctant to expand your music taste and try something new. Have an open mind and let the music amuse you. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have the perfect setup yet. You’re gonna get there. What matters is music and how it heals you ❤️
