Well in my head I’ve been collecting vinyls since I was 15, always noting down the records that I came across in mix sets by some of my favourite DJs, I listen to electronic music of course. The list kept getting longer and longer, until I finally got my first turntable 2 years ago, thanks to Uri, who was kind enough to sell me one of his older ones. Since then, I’ve been a regular at the Revolver club, picking up my Jazz supply from there, for the electronica I order every month from Discogs, so the collection is growing steadily now
How Large is your vinyl collection?
Not too large at this point, just about 50-60 records
Which is the most valuable record in your collection?
Flying Lotus - You’re Dead & Cosmogramma are dear to me
A techno favourite of mine back from the pre 2000s by Space Manouvres - Stage 1 is also very dear to me
Tell us about your turntable setup
Nothing fancy; a single Technics 1210 MK5 II connected to my computer using a pro audio card; routed to my KRK Rokits
Any advice to people that are about to start their collection?
Size doesn’t matter. Go small, start going to the revolver club, pick up one or two a month if you’re budget conscious, and just keep adding
If you’re travelling abroad, look for record shops and pick up one or two on your trips- you may even find some rare ones in the bag
But keep adding to your collection and one day you’ll wake up wondering where you’re going to keep all the records you’ve picked up
