Tell us your Vinyl Story
My earliest memory of music is perhaps my dad and mum listening to vinyls in the late 70's. They got the player right after their wedding in1976 as gift to themselves. I was born in 1977, the same year Moheener Ghoraguli, the legendary Bengali Band from Kolkata released their first EP. Since the lead man of the band, Gautam Chattopadhyay was my Dad's friend, he gifted us the 45 that I started spinning as I got interested in music pretty early on... My journey as a musician also began soon as I started learning the mandolin! In 2014 I travelled to San Francisco to attend the Mandolin Symposium, and I had a chance to visit the legendary shop Amoeba Music. I could not resist picking up a couple of records though I didn't have a working player... today as I am about to release my music on a 45, I had to get a player for myself. Hopefully the record will get pressed soon and we will work with you guys to promote it a bit. This is my story...
