I’ve always thought of myself as an audiophile in my own right. Even in digital music, I always focused on the quality of the source file than fancy sound equipment. There’s just something about being able to hear the twang of a guitar, finer details of the snare drum and fret noise of the bass guitar - which has always sounded like a rubber band even on 320kbps mp3s. It makes me feel more involved in music. Add to that, the feel of physically owning a piece of music in a format that is as true to the artists idea of it- just completes it for me

Any advice to people that are about to start their collection?
Maybe try listening to some hi res audio rips, attend a listening session, see if you can tell the difference and if you’re willing to make a commitment. But once you do, you’ll never feel the same about music again :)
