Rega Demo 1
Rega Research Limited is an audio equipment manufacturer based out of the United Kingdom.
The name Rega - comes from the initials of its two founders. (RElph & GAndy)
Rega History:
1973 - Roy works as a technical editor for Ford, spends most of the free time installing Hi-Fi equipment for friends. Spends an awful a lot of time repairing new turntables. Decides to build his own turntable, calls it the 'Planet'.
1975 - Planar 2 is launched.
1977 - Planar 3 is launched.
1980 - Rega moves into an old mill in a residential area in West Cliff on sea Essex. The factory is painted bright green.
1983 - Launches their own RB300 and RB250 tonearms after finding a manufacturer willing to work with them on their one piece of tube design.
1988 - BIAS & Elys cartridges go into in house production.
1989 - Ela loudspeaker is introduced.
1991 - Elex & Elicit amplifier launched.
1992 - Move into a new larger factory on the temple farm industrial estate in the South end on the sea.
2014 - Now Rega sells in 40+ countries across the world, producing on average 2000 turntables a month.
