What are your favourite genres?
How did you first get into collecting records?
At least 30 years, on and off.
What’s your turntable setup like?
I have two suitcase record players (an old Philips, and a more recent Victrola), both of which I use only minimally for fear of damaging the records, and I have a Denon DP-29F that I later bought from Revolver Club. The latter currently plays through a set of Edifier speakers. I hope to upgrade to a Pro-Ject or a Pioneer player when I have some dough to spare.
What’s your best advice for people starting their vinyl journey?
Start with your favourite albums, albums you want to listen to over and again, and build your collection slowly, steadily. And if you're an impulse buyer like me, stop and breathe a little before you hit that buy button, for heaven's sake.
