Grandeur Lumillion Lume Tourbillon — Limited Edition 087/100

The Grandeur Lumillion takes the tourbillon and makes it the entire visual centre of the watch. Beneath its dramatically domed sapphire crystal, the dial is stripped of conventional hands and indices, placing the rotating tourbillon at the centre while the hours are read from a scale running around the perimeter of the case. Grandeur introduced the Lumillion as the world’s first luminous tourbillon, using Swiss BGW9 lume on the mechanism itself. 

The construction is equally unconventional. A lightweight titanium case surrounds the sculptural crystal, while the movement can be viewed again through the sapphire caseback. This particular example is engraved 087/100 and houses the manually wound Cal. GWC-002, with 29 jewels and a 36-hour power reserve as marked on the movement itself. Rather than hiding the mechanics behind a traditional dial, the Lumillion turns the regulating organ into both the functional and visual focal point of the watch.

Presented in Grandeur’s distinctive folding presentation case, this example is accompanied by a selection of interchangeable rubber straps in grey, black, blue, green and orange. It is a watch built less around conventional watchmaking aesthetics and more around displaying the mechanics of time as directly as possible.
