Description

In a Lonely Place (1950), directed by Nicholas Ray, is a gripping film noir starring Humphrey Bogart and Gloria Grahame. The story follows troubled screenwriter Dixon Steele (Bogart), who is given the chance to revive his failing career by adapting a trashy novel into a film. Instead of reading it, he hires Mildred (Martha Stewart) to summarize it for him. However, when Mildred is found murdered the next day, Dixon becomes the prime suspect. His only alibi comes from his neighbor Laurel Gray (Grahame), who supports him out of affection rather than certainty. As their romance develops, Laurel begins to fear that Dixon may indeed be guilty. This Criterion Collection edition presents the classic noir masterpiece in a restored Blu-ray format.
