The Rega Planar 6 Nd5 MM combines Rega's precision belt-drive turntable platform with the RB330 precision tonearm, Neo PSU and factory-fitted Nd5 moving magnet cartridge. Designed as a complete analogue playback platform, it brings together Rega's lightweight, high-rigidity construction with electronically controlled motor operation and a carefully matched MM cartridge.

Rega Nd5 MM Cartridge

The Nd5 is Rega's moving magnet cartridge designed for detailed and accurate vinyl reproduction. It uses a nude elliptical diamond stylus and aluminium cantilever, with the cartridge factory fitted to the RB330 tonearm for convenient setup.

RB330 Precision Tonearm

The RB330 precision tonearm provides a rigid and accurately controlled platform for the Nd5 cartridge. Its high-precision bearing system is designed for smooth movement and accurate groove tracking.

Neo PSU & Motor Control

The supplied Neo PSU provides electronic speed control for the Planar 6's 24 V low-noise synchronous motor. It enables electronic selection of 33⅓ and 45 RPM and provides controlled motor operation designed to maintain stable platter rotation.

Planar 6 Construction

The Planar 6 uses an ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 foam-core plinth combined with high-pressure laminate skins. Its double-brace structure reinforces the critical areas around the tonearm and main bearing while maintaining a lightweight, rigid platform.

Platter & Drive System

A dual-layer float-glass platter provides a stable record-supporting surface. The supplied Reference EBLT drive belt transfers motor rotation to the platter system and is designed for accurate and consistent rotational performance.

Phono Pre-Amplifier Required

The Planar 6 does not include a built-in phono stage. The supplied Nd5 is a moving magnet cartridge, so the turntable requires an external MM phono pre-amplifier or an amplifier/receiver with a dedicated MM phono input.
