The SME Synergy Mk2 is a precision-engineered integrated turntable designed to provide a complete high-end vinyl playback solution with minimal setup. It combines a high-mass CNC-machined aluminium chassis and suspended sub-chassis with an advanced electronic drive system, the SME-designed Synergy tonearm based on the Series IV platform, an Ortofon MC Windfeld Ti moving-coil cartridge, a NAGRA-designed built-in phono stage and premium Crystal Cable internal wiring. High-Mass Aluminium Chassis

The main chassis is precision machined from a solid billet of premium-grade aerospace aluminium. The high-mass construction provides a rigid foundation for the suspended sub-chassis, main bearing and tonearm while maintaining the compact footprint characteristic of the Synergy design.

Suspension & Isolation

The sub-chassis is suspended on an advanced isolation system designed to control primary resonance. Four adjustable feet use polymer isolators and are mechanically de-coupled from the main chassis, providing a stable and controlled interface with the supporting surface.

Precision Main Bearing & Platter

The Synergy Mk2 uses a precision-machined 19 mm high-chrome tool-steel spindle that is ground and super-finished before being supported in a sealed bearing housing with individually fitted sintered-bronze bearings. The aluminium platter weighs more than 4.6 kg and incorporates an iso-damped, diamond-turned upper surface designed for secure record contact.

Synergy Tonearm

The Synergy Mk2 is equipped with the dedicated Synergy tonearm, based on the acclaimed SME Series IV design. It uses a one-piece pressure die-cast magnesium arm tube with internal damping and premium Crystal Cable wiring. The tonearm is factory configured with the supplied Ortofon MC Windfeld Ti cartridge for precise integration with the turntable and built-in phono stage.

Ortofon MC Windfeld Ti Cartridge

The Synergy Mk2 is supplied as a factory-configured package with the Ortofon MC Windfeld Ti moving-coil cartridge. The cartridge is pre-installed and aligned as part of the integrated system, reducing the setup required before listening.

Built-In NAGRA Phono Stage

A dedicated NAGRA-designed phono stage is integrated into the Synergy Mk2, allowing the turntable to provide a line-level output directly to a compatible amplifier. This eliminates the need for a separate external phono preamplifier in a conventional setup.

Crystal Cable Wiring

The tonearm is internally wired with premium Crystal Cable using pure mono-crystal silver conductors. The wiring is integrated into the factory-configured signal path between the cartridge and the built-in phono stage.

Advanced Drive System

The Synergy Mk2 uses a custom bi-phase AC synchronous motor controlled by a dedicated electronic speed-control unit. The control system generates two independent precision sine waves and matches them to the motor to provide accurate and stable platter rotation.

Speed Control Unit

The dedicated Speed Control Unit provides precise electronic management of the motor. Independent settings are available for 33⅓ and 45 RPM, with fine pitch adjustment performed using the rotary control on the front panel.

Separate Power Unit

A separate mains Power Unit houses the transformer away from the Speed Control Unit and the turntable's audio signal cables. This physical separation helps maintain a clean analogue signal environment.
