This classic crime thriller is still recognised in an instant by its songs. The timelessness of Don’s music is second to none. The soundtrack of the film has been composed by the duo Kalyanji Anandji, while the lyrics were written by Anjaan and Indeevar. Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle received accolades at Filmfare for the tracks "Khaike Pan Banaraswala" and "Yeh Mera Dil" respectively, both of which have also been remixed in the remake. The score and soundtrack for the film were composed by R.D.Burman, with lyrics by Anand Bakshi. The soundtrack was melody-based and allowed the prince of music a wide stage to show his musical prowess. Padosan:

Kishore Kumar's character in the film was inspired by his uncle’s personality, Dhananjay Banerjee (a classical singer), and music director Khemchand Prakash. The song Ek Chatur Naar was originally sung in the movie Jhoola by Ashok Kumar. Sharaabi:

Sharaabi is a 1984 Indian Hindi comedy-drama film produced and directed by Prakash Mehra. Kishore Kumar won his 7th Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer. Kishore Kumar was the only singer nominated for that year for four songs from this album: "De De Pyar De", "Inteha Ho Gayi Intezar Ki", "Log Kehte Hain" and won for the song "Manzilen Apni Jagah Hain" which is a record till date.  {BEST SONG: Manzilein Apni Jagah Hain}
