He also sang in foreign languages including Persian, Arabic, Sinhala, Mauritian Creole and Dutch. During a Mauritius visit in the late 1960s, he sang two songs in Mauritian Creole. In private work, he sang several songs on Chris Perry’s Konkani album Golden Hits with Lorna Cordeiro.
Rarity then produced the pivot. Posts claimed he sang the English song at the United Nations in 1970. Fact checks find no reliable historical record of a UN performance.
What stays true is more interesting than the rumour. He kept melodies that already carried emotion, then changed language when reach mattered.
