Elephant : How MILI crafted a sonic vision inspired from Joe Satriani's guitar textures, sci-fi alien motifs, and Kerala's mysticism
MILI’s new single “Elephant” marks a major milestone. It features legendary guitarist Joe Satriani, making her the first artist and composer from India to collaborate with him. The track brings together an international lineup, with Vinnie Colaiuta on drums, James Genus on bass,
and Jeff Babko on piano and keys. At the centre is MILI, who wrote, composed, and performed the song.
“Elephant” is a sci-fi–driven rock track in English. While it draws visual and thematic cues from Kerala’s forests, temple festivals, and the presence of the elephant, the approach is not rooted in regional sound. Instead, these references shape the scale and atmosphere of the track, aligning with Satriani’s expansive guitar work.
MILI is already a familiar voice to Indian listeners. A. R. Rahman gave her an early film break in Raavanan with “Keda Kari,” which led to playback work across languages, including Tamil tracks like “Parakka Seivaai” and “Ippadiye.” She reached a wider Hindi audience with Amit Trivedi’s “Meethi Boliyaan” from Kai Po Che!, earning award nominations and leading to further collaborations, including Coke Studio and live tours.
“Elephant” also connects to her independent work. On Written in the Stars (2017), MILI wrote and composed all ten tracks, collaborating with Colaiuta and Genus, along with Michael Landau and George Whitty. Songs like “Dream Like A Skylark,” “Fooling,” “New Day,” and “Inside Out” were released with videos, establishing the scale and detail of her songwriting.
When she began recording Written in the Stars in Los Angeles, the musicians brought extensive touring and studio experience, including work with artists such as Sting and James Taylor. MILI has described this phase as a turning point, where her compositions were matched with players who could execute them with precision.
With “Elephant,” she returns to that approach—working with established musicians while keeping the focus firmly on her writing. The track holds together through the structure and clarity of her composition.

Hello, I want to share my testimony with all of you. I have daily 9 to 5 jobs but while I work, I try my luck at playing instant Lotto. On this particular day, I decided to seek help online regarding tips for winning the lottery and I saw many individuals testifying about Meduza spells. I reached out to him and informed him that I needed help to win the lottery and he clarified the process to me stating that after he casts the spell, it will take 48 hours for him to provide me the winning numbers which I accepted. I followed all his instructions and he provided me with the numbers to enter the Lottery. After the draw the following morning I received a notification on the Lottery app on my phone indicating that I was the lucky winner of $273 million on the New Jersey Lottery and I’m here to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Meduza. I had almost lost hope of getting my wife back. Our marriage had gone through a very difficult period, and no matter how much I tried to communicate or repair the situation, things continued to feel distant between us. I was emotionally exhausted and unsure of what to do next. I came across Priest Alaska online and decided to reach out. From our first conversation, I felt listened too and treated with understanding. I was able to explain everything I had been going through, and I received guidance that gave me a renewed sense of hope. As I followed the guidance I received, I began to notice positive changes. Communication between my wife and me gradually improved, the tension between us became less intense, and we started reconnecting emotionally. Eventually, my wife reached out to me, and we had an honest conversation about our marriage and the possibility of starting over. Today, I am grateful that we have been able to reconnect and work toward rebuilding our relationship. What once felt like a situation with no way forward now feels like a new beginning for both of us. I promised God that I would share my testimony on this website. I had all the signs of STD Virus but I was not too sure as to which one. I did a lot of online research and scared myself straight for a whole week before going to see the nurse. She took one look at my genital part and first said that it could just be the anatomy of my body, then she said it looked like genital warts and that I May have herpes. I was devastated. She gave me some medicine for the herpes and some cream for the warts. I was also tested for every single STD including herpes. I went home and cried searching the web for all sorts of cures for herpes and awaiting my results. I saw a post whereby Dr. Kham cured Herpes and other diseases, I copied his contacts out and added him on WhatsApp. The next day my test result was ready and I confirmed Herpes positive. I told Dr. Kham about my health problems and he assured me of a cure. He prepared his herbal medicine and sent it to me. I took it for 14 days (2 weeks). Before the completion of the 14 days in which I completed the dose, The Blisters and Warts that were on my body were cleared. I went back for a check-up and I was told I’m free from the virus. After months of heartbreak and believing my marriage was over, I never imagined my partner and I would ever be together again. I had almost lost hope until I found Father Alaska online. Although initially skeptical, I decided to contact him and explain everything that had happened between us. He listened attentively, without judgment, asked thoughtful questions about our relationship, and gave me clear spiritual guidance. I followed all his instructions with faith and patience. To my surprise, shortly after, my partner contacted me. We had a heartfelt conversation, he apologized for everything that had happened, and we decided to rebuild our marriage together. I know every situation is different, but this was my personal experience, and I am grateful for the support I received. If you would like to contact Father Alaska, here is his information:
