From Law School To India's Rising Hip-Hop Star Meba Ofilia
To claim that the Indian hip-hop scene has recently garnered the attention of a lot of people would be considered old news. It's better to assert that the hip-hop scene in India is thriving and brimming with confidence and creativity.
Meba Ofilia, a singer/songwriter and rapper from Shillong, Meghalaya had enough confidence in her creativity that she decided to drop out of law school to pursue a career in music - interestingly, in her final year. This decision was expectedly against the wishes of her mother, who wanted her to pursue a career in law.
It will forever remain a mystery what her career inside a courtroom in a monochrome outfit would have looked like, but it is safe to say that her music career is off to a successful start.

Meba takes pride in her origin and never misses a chance to express it. Her love for Meghalaya is evident in her project "Golden," where she musically showcases her perception and experience of Meghalaya incorporating tribal sounds and traditional Khasi chants, but it's her own charisma and flair that sets the groove right.
Her album "Untitled.shg," is a great example of why the audience should be excited for Meba and expect her to infuse the hip-hop scene with her style.
