If you’ve been paying attention to Lollapalooza India in recent years, you’d know the backlash has been as loud as the speakers. After some lackluster years where people were left scratching their heads, selling tickets faster than the bands could tune their guitars; but this year, Lolla seems to have gotten the memo, and boy, did they deliver.
First off, we’ve got Green Day. If you grew up in the '90s or early 2000s, odds are you had American Idiot blaring from your Walkman, and now you have a chance to scream those angsty lyrics in real life. For a generation of fans, this is pure, undiluted nostalgia wrapped up in power chords and Billie Joe Armstrong’s eyeliner.

On the flip side is Shawn Mendes, who’ll bring his smooth pop charm to the table. His crowd-pleasers like Stitches and will surely have thousands singing along, and it doesn’t hurt that he’s got an army of fans who’d probably follow him to the ends of the Earth—or at least to Mahalaxmi Racecourse.
Add to that Louis Tomlinson, bringing a dash of One Direction nostalgia, and on the more psychedelic side of things we have Glass Animals, will serve up their indie-psych-pop blend, perfect for zoning out under the Mumbai sun. Their track Heat Waves dominated the charts for what felt like an eternity (91 weeks, if you’re counting), and you’ve got a lineup that appeals to everyone from indie hipsters to teenage pop enthusiasts.
The EDM crowd is well taken care of too, with Zedd and John Summit poised to drop heavy beats. But it’s Alok who might just steal the show, with his unique Brazilian take on electronic music; while rap fans will be treated to performances from Big Boi - one half of Outkast, who will be bringing that Southern swagger to the stage, and we can already hear "Shutterbugg" playing in our heads.
Speaking of global superstars, the Lollapalooza India 2025 lineup has roped in none other than HanumanKind, whose recent hit "Big Dawgs" has taken the world by storm. This track, which has amassed over 100 million views on YouTube and debuted at No. 57 on the Billboard Global 200 chart, marked a significant milestone for Indian hip-hop.
But that’s not all for hip-hop fans. Joining him on stage will be Raftaar and KR$NA, two of India’s biggest rap icons. Raftaar, known for his high-energy performances and thought-provoking lyrics, is a seasoned festival performer. Meanwhile, KR$NA, often hailed as one of the sharpest lyricists in the Indian scene, is sure to deliver a hard-hitting set.
We’ve got a smattering of local talent that ensures this lineup is truly a global fusion: Lisa Mishra, Raman Negi, Dhanji, Spryk, Sahil Vasudeva, Anushka, Sid Vashi, Raghav Meattle, and Sudan round out the bill. Each of these artists brings a unique flavor to the festival, ensuring that Lollapalooza India 2025 is not just about big names but also about showcasing homegrown talent that’s making waves globally.
In true Lollapalooza fashion, there’s room for everything. Dot. will deliver her quirky singer-songwriter vibes, while Isabel LaRosa and Wave To Earth bring fresh, indie sounds that are destined to win over new fans. Nothing But Thieves, the British rock band, will bring their soulful, alt-rock anthems to the stage.
For the dreamers, Aurora is set to bring her ethereal energy to the festival. The Norwegian artist is known for her otherworldly soundscapes and powerful voice, and tracks like "Runaway" are sure to mesmerize the crowd.
So, whether you’re moshing to Green Day, vibing to Glass Animals, or bouncing to Big Boi, this year’s Lollapalooza is ready to be a genre-spanning, heart-pounding musical extravaganza.
Lollapalooza India is set to take place on March 8-9, 2025 in Mumbai. Get your tickets—you’re in for a wild ride.
