How Hanumankind Is Raising The Bar For Indian Rap

From the time Hanumankind blew everyone's brains out last year while performing at Veranda Mumbai shirtless and moshing with the crowd (amongst a monolith of different venues across the country) to him conducting the most coordinated and respectful moshpit at JPEGMAFIA'S gig at 2023's Lollapolloza India, he's been a riot within the Indian music scene. And now Hanumankind and the boys have brought to us one of the most intricately shot music videos of the year for his latest single 'Big Dawgs' featuring Kalmi.
Seeing the ‘Wall of death’ on many a circus vists growing up across India always fascinated me. The death-defying drop, the high speed adrenaline pump of it all, the performers never stopping no matter the stakes… all of it definitely resonates with the take no prisoners attitude of Hanumankind....but to still see someone within the scene pull up with such a bear-flexing energy to pull something off like this is a feat of its own and Bijoy Shetty takes the cake for that. Long-time collaborator Bijoy Shetty pulls off another visually thrilling spectacle with filming Hanumankind peeking proudly out of an old Maruti Suzuki (how Indian can you get man?) as he raps braggadocious-ly about his current place within our music scene.
It's always refreshing to have kind hearted and musically gifted individuals like Hanumankind gift us with stuff we can truly be proud off, but we here at the Revolver Club want to shine a light on the absolute brilliance that has always been the beautiful chemistry between Bijoy Shetty and Hanumankind- just look at their work through his earlier singles 'DAMNSON' and 'Rush Hour' and 'Go To Sleep' and tell us this isn't the peak of Indian music videos right now (along with the stuff going on with Chaar Diwaari right now)! We're really excited to see what's next and want to plug in from our side everyone in the crew who has made such a masterpiece materialise for us to take in!
As for the literal video production of the music video and Hanumankind's nods to Project Pat during his rap delivery within the track (NORTH MEMPHIS!), the earth shattering locked-on shots on Hanumankind and spectators to the drone tracking shots of the different vehicles in the wall of death itself really blew this to a another level that frankly we're yet to see from other Indian rap music videos!
You know what we got from those last minutes of Hanumankind's behind the scenes during his 'Big Dawgs' video? That's a crew that's willing to put in what the culture needs, and we can't wait to see what comes next!
