Singer Songwriter: Druv Kent | Artist Shoutout

Druv Kent is one of Asia’s leading creative musical artists and performers, recording in both English and Hindi, originally a native of Calcutta. Druv is a composer, singer-songwriter and storyteller of timeless stories set to modern contemporary music, delivering a world-class, unique offering. 

As he burst on the international scene in 2015, he became the 1st Asia-based artist supported in 20 years by BBC Radio 2, and has since scored #1 chart-topping songs on both the World Indie Music Charts and the Euro Indie Music Charts, including as recently as January 2021.

Druv’s authentic songwriting style caught the attention of UK-based producers Greg Haver, Calum MacColl and Simon Edwards, who’ve worked with John Mayer, Ronan Keating, Radiohead, who are now part of Druv’s regular collaboration team. 

Druv’s music is earthy, soulful and organic, with lyrics rich in nuanced themes seeking meaning in a fragile and shifting world. A finance executive turned full-time musician, Druv’s two albums and 13 singles have received widespread popular and critical acclaim in the UK, US, Singapore, HK, Dubai, Australia and India. Druv has also composed and sung for Bollywood, separately composed what is regarded as a Top 10 Hindi patriotic song in India, and is working on various collaboration opportunities with some of Sweden and Nashville’s top artists.

Druv plays live in the UK, Europe, Dubai, HK and India and has headlined some of Singapore’s biggest stages, including Esplanade Recital Studio, Suntec Convention Centre and the Victoria Theatre. He performed with the Shillong Chamber Choir, was the cover story of India Se’s1Q 2019 issue, been heralded as one of India’s best songwriter-composers in both English and Hindi, scored #1 hits on both the World Indie Music Charts and Euro Indie Music Charts, headlined the Asia Television Awards, 2019 Kasauli Lit Fest in India, and sold out shows across several countries.

Singapore based Druv’s next set of music is slated for release Summer 2021 and is the product of his recent collaborations with Sweden’s topmost producers.
