What are your favourite genres of Music and your all-time favourite musician?
I like old school music of artists like Kishore Kumar and M. Rafi.
What types of records do you keep?
We have everything from Indian Classical to Western Music.
How and why did you get into record business?
My father, Mr Shantilal Jain started this family business over 70 years ago and then eventually I took over because I love music.
Tell us a little about your clientele, and How have they changed over the years and Do you get young clients?
Back in the days, all our clients were 60-75 years of age. I still have a lot of clients who are 60 but now even the next generation comes here to shop for records. So we have seen everyone from the age of 12 to 75.
Have you felt the revival of Vinyl?
Vinyl was always here but if we are talking about the revival then I would say that it started 3 years back. Companies make 300 LPs every year because of the market. Some titles like Eric Clapton, Dire Strait, Pink Floyd are made 3-4 times because of their demand.
